OFFICERS OF THE CLUB 


Gary Robins
PRESIDENT: Gary Robins

Gary joined the club in 1999 and has been serving on the Committee since 2010, starting as Chairman of House. The owner of a successful local company supplying to the building industry, Gary’s business acumen has been a welcome addition in making the astute strategic decisions needed to ensure the Club continues to flourish into the future. Following two years as Vice President, Gary was elected to a one year term as Committee President in November 2015.


Max Wright
VICE PRESIDENT & CHAIRMAN OF HOUSE: Max Wright

For almost forty years, Max was a civil/structuring draftsman in WA’s public service. He became a WGC member in 2001 and promptly retired from the workforce the following year, deciding instead to focus on the Club with the same level of industriousness. For a decade, he worked onsite as an assistant golf administrator on part time basis, occasionally filling in as General Manager before taking up a variety of Match Committee positions. A dedicated clubman, Max was elected to his current one year Committee posting in November 2015. Cramming all that into such a short lifetime so far has been quite an achievement – born on a leap year, Max has only celebrated seventeen birthdays!


Ross-HammondTREASURER: Ross Hammond

It’s reassuring for all members to know that the Club’s finances are in good hands. Now retired from the financial sector, Ross ended his career in a managerial position with a leading bank and joined the Club in 2010. He was first appointed Treasurer in January 2014 and since being applying his vast experience and fiscal discipline to our books.


 CAPTAIN & CHAIRMAN OF MATCH  : Joe Dixon

Broad experience is always a great asset to bring to any sporting committee and Joe has it in spades. Before joining the Club in 2003, Joe played county-level rugby and soccer in England and even represented the UK in slalom canoe. He has previously held a position on the Match Committee for three years.

Kevin Bailey
VICE CAPTAIN & CHAIRMAN OF PUBLICATIONS: Kevin Bailey

Kevin has been with the Club since 1996 and now oversees the layout and production of the Wanneroo Fore, the bi-monthly publication issued to Club members.

 


David Isaac
COURSE CHAIRPERSON: David Isaac

Since joining the Club in 1991, David has played a lot of golf at Wanneroo over the last 25 years despite still being very active in the business community. Along with playing in the Sunday mixed field alongside his wife, David has also been Sunday captain for seven years and served on the Match Committee.

 

Carol Newby
MEMBERSHIP, RULES & CONSTITUTION: Carol Newby

Despite a busy schedule running her accounting and computer consultancy, Carol has always found time to contribute to the Club. Since joining in 1999, she has served as Ladies Treasurer, Ladies Vice-Captain, Ladies Captain and beyond club level has also held a position on the board of Women’s Golf WA.

 


Greg Lynch
FINANCE: Greg Lynch

Assisting the Treasurer in ensuring the financial future of the Club, Greg brings his vast experience in executive and management positions in private enterprise to the role. Greg has been a member here since 2004.

 

 


 

MEMBERSHIP CHAIRPERSON: Sean Keown

After moving from New Zealand to Perth in 1989 and having a brief stint’s in Melbourne and then in Singapore for work, Sean settled back in Tapping and joined the club in 2008.

After spending some time assisting on the morning match committee Sean joined the Standing Match Committee around 2 years ago.

Married to Val, they have two children, Erin and Kenzie, who can also be found at the club sometimes on a Saturday morning terrorising all.
